Abstract

An application is described for combined break-even and marginal cost analysis for the problem of economically allocating the workload of alternative processors to products. Two forms of economic cost models and the resulting optimal allocation of each are described. Procedures for fitting these models to data are discussed. After the model parameters are obtained, then the least cost allocation of the required production quantity to the group of available processors can be found. Aids are given for determining the best combination of processors.
