On optimal power allocation for turbo codes

Abstract

A scheme for optimum power allocation for the different bits of a turbo code is introduced. It is shown that by employing this scheme performance improvements in the range of 0.5-0.7 dB can be achieved without introducing any complexity or delay at the decoder.
