Abstract
The concept of absolute units raise questions on the existence of such universal and immutable laws of physics. Prominent theorists have begun to to express serious doubt about the ultimate success of the concept of absolute units. It is believed that properties of the particles such as the masses of the proton and electron depend essentially on their interaction with the concept of absolute units. The parameters of the concept of absolute units have messy values. Unified models with supersymmetry provide examples with many metastable ground states that have closely comparable energy.
