On absolute units, I: Choices

Abstract

Apart from Planck unit, some other methods of creating absolute units are discussed. In the atomic units, which are based on h, e, me, the Schródinger equation for interacting electrons to the electric fields infinitely massive nuclei becomes purely numerical. Strong units should be viewed in the light of quantum chromodynamies, the fundamental theory of the strong interaction. An important feature of atomic and strong units in comparison to Planck units is that the length, time, and mass can be constructed without taking square roots.
