Abstract
The conceptual design of a generic object oriented toolkit for feature modeling is presented. The purpose of the toolkit is to provide an infrastructure for developing feature modelers without dictating the capabilities and philosophical concepts of such a system. The major motivating factors for the choice of the object-oriented paradigm and a tool kit structure are discussed. The toolkit consists of Structuring tools, Component building tools and Synthesis tools. The objects that comprise these tools are described.
