Abstract

The present invention describes a smart nano/micro structure, which can beused in array systems, flow cytometry systems, diagnistic libraries, combinatorial libraries, fluorescent inks, and fluorescent cosmetics, etc. This smart structure claimed in this invention is an onion-like structure with not only moleculra recognition abilities but also built-in codes for rapid target identification. The surface of the smart nano/micro struture can be functionalized for different molecular recognition. Inside the smart structure, different fluorescent quantum dots are confined in different layers, and the target identification can be done based on the different fluorescence intensity and intensity ratios.
