Abstract

Proton spin-lattice relaxation times in Ca(NH3)6 have been measured between 10 and 125 K. Three distinct T1 minima have been observed and are attributed to NH3 diffusion and to NH3 rotating in two different hindering potentials. The results suggest that there is an appreciable difference in molecular structure between NH3 and ND3 in this compound.
