Results of a systematic study of atomic-mass differences in the region 82<~N<~126 are presented as plots of double-neutron separation energy and neutron-pairing energy. These plots provide information concerning the extent of the nuclear deformation which begins in the region of 90 neutrons, its dependence upon Z, and its gradual dissappearance in the region 106N116.
