Abstract

In this paper we present the conceptual design of a new continuous process to fabricate silicon wafers for further use in solar cells. We develop a partial album of models which show the behaviors of solidification, fluid flow and heat transfer. A multiscale modeling approach is used to solve the conservation equations in order to find the relevant design parameters for further control and optimization studies.
