Abstract

Additional conditions which are necessary for reducing the RCS of complex objects using checkerboard metasurfaces are presented. It is demonstrated that the arbitrary application of checkerboard metasurfaces is not sufficient to reduce the RCS of complex structures like dihedral corners where fields undergo multiple reflections. All the conditions are validated using simulation results.
