Abstract

This chapter discusses component replacement and rehabilitation using approaches incorporating reliability analysis. Subjects covered include an optimization model for replacement and rehabilitation of system components, penalty methods, expected costs of water main breakage and of pumps expansion, probabilistic approach to maintenance scheduling, and others.
