Abstract

Double-polarization asymmetries for inclusive [Formula presented] scattering were measured at Jefferson Lab using 2.6 and 4.3 GeV longitudinally polarized electrons incident on a longitudinally polarized [Formula presented] target in the CLAS detector. The polarized structure function [Formula presented] was extracted throughout the nucleon resonance region and into the deep inelastic regime, for [Formula presented]. The contributions to the first moment [Formula presented] were determined up to [Formula presented]. Using a parametrization for [Formula presented] in the unmeasured low [Formula presented] regions, the complete first moment was estimated over this [Formula presented] region. A rapid change in [Formula presented] is observed for [Formula presented], with a sign change near [Formula presented], indicating dominant contributions from the resonance region. At [Formula presented] our data are below the perturbative QCD evolved scaling value.

N2 - Double-polarization asymmetries for inclusive [Formula presented] scattering were measured at Jefferson Lab using 2.6 and 4.3 GeV longitudinally polarized electrons incident on a longitudinally polarized [Formula presented] target in the CLAS detector. The polarized structure function [Formula presented] was extracted throughout the nucleon resonance region and into the deep inelastic regime, for [Formula presented]. The contributions to the first moment [Formula presented] were determined up to [Formula presented]. Using a parametrization for [Formula presented] in the unmeasured low [Formula presented] regions, the complete first moment was estimated over this [Formula presented] region. A rapid change in [Formula presented] is observed for [Formula presented], with a sign change near [Formula presented], indicating dominant contributions from the resonance region. At [Formula presented] our data are below the perturbative QCD evolved scaling value.
