Abstract

Synthesizes some recent theoretical and empirical studies in different fields which are related to conservation science (landscape fragmentation, island biogeography theory, population dynamics). Models which are based upon distinct perspectives and at different organizational levels are reviewed, and applicability and roles of mathematical modelling in nature conservation are examined. -from English summary
