Abstract
Mass spectral fragmentation patterns have been recorded for 6-geranylaminopurine, 6-farnesylaminopurine and 6-[di-(3-methyl-2-butenyl)amino]purine. The fragmentation patterns of these compounds were essentially the same. The data suggest that the assignment of structures to new H(C5H8)n-substituted purines may not be made solely on the basis of mass spectral fragmentation patterns.
