N2 - This invention encompasses a system that is used for capturing motion without placing any markers on the subject's body. The system consists of one or more conventional video cameras, placed around the capture volume. They system would capture motion in one of the three configurations.1. Post-it Note (or any colored sticker, hereto mentioned as only Post-it note) tracking2. Virtual Marker Tracking3. Body part trackingIn Post-it note configuration, Post-it notes are placed on the region of interests, which are tracked by our algorithm. In Virtual Marker configuration, the technician capturing the motion slects a set of point on the subject using a graphical user interface, which are trached using our algorithm. In Body part tracking, the algorithm identifies the body parts of interest and tracks them automatically. In all the above systems, several derivative data (derived from the tracking information) like the joint angle trajectories, velocities, etc. are also provided as part of the algorithm.
