Abstract
The software development cycle time and the potential trade-offs focusing on cycle time reduction are examined. A comprehensive set of cycle time factors was identified and categorized which was used to review and evaluate the existing cycle time reduction approaches. An argument is made for a product centered cycle time approach. The paper establishes a common ground from which future research in this area may continue.
