He was also a co-investigator of projects funded by the Federal Centers of Excellence on Telecommunications Research (CITR) and Microelectronics Network (MICRONET). He is currently a PI/Co-PI of projects funded by the National Science Foundation, Motorola, ARM, and SUN. He has published over 200 papers in refereed journals and conferences. He has written a book chapter on compressed/progressive search in the book Image Databases: Search and Retrieval of Digital Imagery (New York: Wiley, 2001).",
