Abstract
The problems and solutions associated with the design of the inbound supply chain for Mexican maquiladoras are discussed. Various aspects related to the development of the overall supply chain of a Mexican maquiladora are also discussed. Such developments can result in contributing to the overall success of the operation with the potential not only to supply the origical customer base but also to serve as a strategic supply point to the Mexican and Latin American markets. The current trend in supply chain management, which is to retain 3PL to design and manage the different aspects of inbound and outbound supply chains of maquiladoras is analyzed.
