IMS 2015 Student Activities

Abstract

Students from all around the world are participating in the upcoming 2015 International Microwave Symposium (IMS2015). IMS2015 will host student design competitions (SDCs), a paper competition, Ph.D. initiative, volunteer opportunities, project connect, a graduate student challenge, and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) initiative. This year, the SDCs are diverse in topics, ranging from system-level design to circuits, and span 18 technical areas. The SDC program will provide a challenge to students working on component-level designs through competitions such as wideband balun and filter designs. Furthermore, the SDC program will involve students working on system-level designs through competitions such as the software-defined radio. IMS2015 has received over 315 student papers. Approximately 20 finalists will be selected from these papers by the Technical Program Review Committee (TPRC) to participate in the conference's interactive forum competition. In addition to engaging college-level students, the IMS community is dedicated to incubating interest in our future workforce through the STEM Initiative.
