Abstract

Examines the effect of hydraulic uncertainty on overall risk evaluation for hydraulic structures. Outlines risk model fundamentals and considers the case of levee capacity. Only a few variables dominate the variation of hydraulic uncertainty. The friction slope for example can be expressed as a friction of bottom slope as well as the flood characteristics. (C.J.U.)
