Abstract
IN TIME DELAYED CORRELATION FOR ANALYZING SIGNALS WITH HIGHFREQUENCY COMPONENTS, THE SIGNAL IS OFTEN CLIPPED TO IMPROVE PROCESSING SPEED. BOTH SINGLE CLIPPING AND DOUBLE CLIPPINGHAVE BEEN USED FOR EITHER ANALOG INPUT SIGNALS OR FOR THE SPECIAL CASE OF PULSE RATE INPUTS (PHOTON CORRELATION). THE EFFECTS OF CLIPPING, LINEARIZING TECHNIQUES, AND RANDOM NOISEON THE SIGNAL ARE ANALYZED FOR THEIR EFFECT ON THE ACCURACYOF THE RESULTING CORRELOGRAM.
