Abstract

The application of the Cambridge University high resolution electron microscope in a number of studies is described. These include studies of local microstructure of metallic glasses, the degree of order in amorphous materials, radiation damage in aromatic molecular crystals, the nucleation and growth of small metal particles, the lattice structure of catalyst particles and polymorphs of materials such as silicate minerals and ferroelectric perovskites.
