High-brightness, stable electron beams from a laser wakefield accelerator operating in the matched regime

Abstract

400MeV quasi-monoenergetic electron beams are produced from a wakefield driven by 70 TW, 30 fs laser pulses. To our knowledge, these beams have the highest brightness to date from any laser accelerator, and 1-2% stability.
