Abstract

Exploring the synergistic interrelationships between group decision support system (DSS) and expert system (ES) construction processes broadens the scope of current group DSS theory and practice. Distributed problem solving decision contexts are discussed and contrasted and with traditional group DSS decision contexts. Distributed ES construction tasks are identified as exemplary of a distributed problem-solving decision context, and a research agenda for investigating the application of group DSS theory and practice to ES construction is presented.
