Genealogical Mobility: Tourism and the Search for a Personal Past

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Tourism is often said to be the largest industry in the world. Whether or not this is true is a matter of debate, but tourism is in fact one of the most significant socio-cultural and economic forces today, and no place on earth remains untouched either directly or indirectly by tourism. Every year hundreds of millions of people travel to experience cultures, climates, and natural landscapes different from those at home.
