Abstract
Anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy has been employed to investigate energy-transfer processes in F-centerOH-(OD-) -defect pairs in KCl. The experimental results demonstrate that at least a good part of the electronic excitation energy becomes transferred to the vibrational states of neighboring OH- or OD- ions. In contrast to the F-centerCN - defect pairs in CsCl, only the lower (n2) vibrational energy levels of OH- or OD- are populated and detected. A model which considers the E-V transfer through dipole-dipole interactions is proposed to account for the observed experimental results.
