Electroluminescence refrigeration in semiconductors

Abstract

An InGaAs light emitting diode monolithically integrated with a suspended lens is proposed as a prototype semiconductor electroluminescence refrigeration device. Simulations predict that a temperature drop up to 6 °C is achievable in this device.
