Efficient Cyclometalated Platinum(II) Complex with Superior Operational Stability

Abstract

Researchers demonstrate efficient cyclometalated platinum(II) complex with superior operational stability. Pt-based emitters have been successfully incorporated in device settings to produce white, blue, green, and red OLEDs with internal quantum efficiencies approaching unity which are comparable to their Ir analogs. unique structural and intrinsic excited state properties of Pt complexes have uncovered new avenues for efficient OLEDs which have been unachievable with Ir complexes, including single-dopant white OLED, �pure� blue phosphorescent OLED[12] and standard OLEDs withrecord external quantum efficiencies (EQEs) approaching 40%, which is enabled by the high degree of preferential molecular orientation of Pt complexes due to their planar molecular form factor.
