The objective of the present research is to develop performance measures for the inbound transportation system of a manufacturing company. In order to assess, monitor and improve the efficiency of their transportation operations. The metrics used should be easy to obtain and independent of the products carried or the geographical dispersion of their suppliers and should also allow the continuous improvement of the transportation operations.
