Abstract

The dynamical diffusion of light in the thin metallic gratings can cause transmission anomalies. The bulk plasmon signal is expected to be dominated by the most strongly absorbed Bloch waves. Since surface plasmons are coupled to the evanescent diffraction modes, the diffracted propagating waves are dynamically coupled to the propagating modes.
