Abstract

Job Order Contracting (JOC) is an innovative procurement/construction process using unit prices. The advantage of JOC is fast and timely delivery, low overhead cost of construction procurement and delivery, a partnering relationship that is based on performance, and standard pricing and specifications which allow expedient estimating, design, and firm fixed-price construction. The partnering approach also allows the contractor and facility owner to deviate when necessary to meet unforeseen problems.
