Disease extinction and disease persistence in age structured epidemic models

Abstract

Disease extinction and persistence in age structured epidemic models were analyzed. The use of Laplace transforms to establish uniform weak persistence of disease through elementary calculations was illustrated. Disease persistence and extinction was explained in terms of a net replacement ratio.
