Abstract

Process capability studies (PCSs) are becoming more widely used as manufacturers realize the importance of understanding the variability and capability of their manufacturing processes. A PCS is used to determine a process's capability of producing products that conform to externally developed limits, such as engineering specifications. In large corporations, PCSs are often used to prioritize improvement processes.
