Abstract
New differential cross section (d/d), analyzing power (Ay), and spin-rotation-depolarization (Dij) data for 500 MeV p+12C,13C elastic scattering are reported. The d/d and Ay data span scattering angles from approximately 5° 37° c.m., while the Dij data cover 5° 26° c.m. Except at the largest angles, statistical errors are typically 1% for d/d, (0.01-0.02) for Ay, and (0.03-0.05) for the Dij observables. The data are compared to predictions of Dirac phenomenology and the relativistic-impulse-approximation-Dirac-equation model.
