Continuous and discrete delayed-recruitment population models

Abstract

We explore the analogy between continuous and discrete population models with delayed recruitment and show how to view a continuous model as a limiting case of discrete models. The conditions for stability of equilibrium for a continuous model are the limiting cases of the corresponding conditions for discrete models.
