Abstract

A computer package called PSYCHRO has been developed which enables any and subsequently all other psychrometric properties of moist air to be calculated from a knowledge of any two independent properties. It consists of 22 function sub-routines using psychrometric correlations presented in SI units in the Agricultural Engineers Yearbook (1982) published by the ASAE. A new figure (named the Psydep figure) is also proposed which depicts the inter-dependence of the various psychrometric properties (specifically 10 in number). The user of the PSYCHRO package is thereby guided in his selection of the appropriate function sub-routine satisfying his specific need. This computer package written in FORTRAN should find application in both air-conditioning and drying calculations and can be exploited even on micro-processors.
