Abstract
High community noise levels are being combated in Gainesville, Florida, through mutual cooperation of the local government and ICAAS (Interdisciplinary Center for Aeronomy and (other) Atmospheric Sciences) at the University of Florida. The data acquired in the noise measurement program for various city locations are presented and correlated using a novel statistical time distribution model for interrupted and low density traffic noise. Included is a summary of the Gainesville noise ordinance that is tailored to their needs.
