abstract = "The properties of the ground state of dense relativistic matter in a magnetic field are examined as a function of the temperature and the chemical potential. The dynamical generation of the chiral shift parameter in the normal ground state is studied. Possible implications of the revealed structure of the normal ground state on the physics of protoneutron stars are briefly mentioned.",
