Cancer chemoprevention: Myth or reality?

    Abstract

    Most medical oncologists have focused their efforts on treatment of well-established malignancies. We will focus here on recent advances in cancer prevention and discuss opportunities for drug development. Although cancer chemoprevention is a relatively young field, we argue that this approach bears significant potential.
