Abstract

This paper examines the bistatic radar cross section (RCS) of a sinusoidally-modulated metasurface leaky-wave antenna (LWA) under normal incidence. The RCS performance is characterized by modeling the antenna as a linear array, with each sinusoidal period as a sub-element of the array. The analytically determined bistatic RCS patterns are compared to simulations, and the model is shown to predict accurately the directions of maxima.
