Abstract
Reviews the GIS model and Systems Performance Model (SPM), before describing its application to an acquisition by a forest resource management agency. The application required a comprehensive workload analysis, an extensive benchmarking of the proposed system, and a series of recommendations based on the results of the benchmark which ultimately led to important changes in the proposal. In the course of the application a great deal was learned about the proposed system and its performance under different workloads. -from Author
