Abstract

High Voltage DC (HVDC) links have controllable characteristics with potential for affecting system stability. This paper follows the robustness methodology procedure [1] to analyze the stability robustness of HVDC controls in power systems over a range of operating conditions. A novel method to design power system controllers using the robustness methodology is also proposed. Numerical results for a sample test-system are obtained and compared with those obtained by conventional techniques.
