Abstract
The use of the interactive modeling, simulation, animation and real time control (MoSART) inverted pendulum environment to a flexible inverted pendulum system in order to analyze, design, visualize and evaluate the performance of control systems, is discussed. The MoSART environment is based on Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000. Visual C++, Microsoft Direct-3D and MATLAB/Simulink. Some of the key modules of the environment include a program user interface (PUI) that allows user to interact with the program, and a real-time simulation module that is responsible for solving the equations which govern the inverted pendulum motion. the environment feature accommodates data exchange with MATLAB, which is useful for control system analysis and redesign.
