Abstract
The in-mould coating (IMC) of fibre reinforced plastic is a process which produces a single-component product with an improved surface with respect to functional and cosmetic properties. Following an introduction to the process, this article discusses the latest developments in IMC technology to enhance weathering performance. The cost savings associated with IMC as a primer compared to using a wet-paint operation is also assessed.
