Abstract

The adsorption isotherms of liquid 1-heptene, benzene, cyclohexene, cyclohexane and n-octane in silicalite with n-hexane as the solvent were measured at 30 degree C. In addition, the adsorption of binary solutes benzene plus cyclohexane and cyclohexene plus cyclohexane will n-hexane as the solvent was also determined. The results are discussed in terms of the shape selective characteristics of the silicalite and size and electronic effects of the adsorbate molecules and compared with those obtained from vapor phase adsorption measurements.
