Abstract

This paper summarizes the difficulties in accrediting and evaluating electric power engineering programs. Requirements of the Engineering Council for Professional Development (ECPD) for the Bachelor's degree in any engineering field are discussed and related to the specific task of evaluating power programs. An evaluation by a team of university, industry, and student representatives is proposed in order to apply multiple evaluation criteria to power programs already accredited by ECPD. These multiple criteria consider not only curriculum but also a range of educational resources and power engineering related professional activities.
