title = "A guide to writing grant proposals for nursing research",
author = "Hyochol Ahn and Elizabeth Reifsnider",
note = "Funding Information: The competition for nursing research grants is profound, and only a small portion of grant proposals receive funding. On the basis of our observations as grant reviewers for the Southern Nursing Research Society, National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, and Department of Veteran Affairs study sections, this editorial provides specific recommendations on how to develop successful grant proposals. We emphasize those aspects of grant proposals most frequently critiqued during these study section reviews. We also specify scientific merit review criteria guidelines that facilitate understanding grant review processes and help nurse researchers improve the quality of grant proposal sections commonly cited as deficient.
