Abstract

A full‐wave solution for the mutual coupling between circular microstrip patches fed by idealized vertical probe feeds is presented. The grounded slab Green's function is used together with the moment method to determine the current distribution on each patch. From this, the patch port impedance matrix and, hence, the mutual coupling can be determined. Measured data that validate the theory are presented.
