Case 7-1987: A 46-Year-Old Woman with Abdominal Pain, Ascites, and a Pelvic Mass

Presentation of Case A 46-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of abdominal pain. She was well until the morning of admission, when she experienced the abrupt onset of diffuse abdominal pain, without nausea or vomiting. She passed a normal stool that morning. She was brought to the hospital. The patient was a native of Canada and was married, with one child.
