However, after almost five decades of intense research, we still do not yet understand the mechanism by which distant protein residues communicate, or how prevalent this phenomenon is. Here, we will combine recently-developed theoretical and experimental methods from the Ozkan and Fordyce labs to answer the question: how well can we create allostery?
